Getting a new entertainment space in Reading

I needed a bespoke home bar after hosting a gathering where we ran out space. I chose to search near the Oracle Shopping Centre.

I found the site while browsing and sent photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens replied with a price that felt fair for the job.

The journey of planning this project was actually quite involved. I dedicated several days reflecting on the configuration of the room before even picking up the phone. My lounge area has constantly felt a bit unfinished, and owning a proper area for drinks felt like the perfect fix to that problem. I remember standing in my kitchen staring at a cluttered countertop covered with glassware and realising that everything had to shift. The initial conversation with the team was very straightforward, which gave me assurance. We talked various aesthetics, from contemporary minimalist looks to something classic and wooden textures. I was really surprised by how many detail they requested regarding the measurements and the current decor of my home. It seemed like they truly wanted the final result to match seamlessly with the rest of the building. I provided various views in the images I sent, ensuring sure every corner was clear. They explained that the bespoke type of the unit meant that precision was entirely critical to prevent any problems during the installation. We moved back and back on potential materials, searching at swatches of quartz and various types of timber grain. It is surprising how much thought goes into picking the correct hardware, like pulls and fittings, which could totally change the vibe of the entire construction. I needed a space where I could easily mix cocktails for guests without having to constantly run back to the kitchen for lemons or tools. The convenience of having all items in one place was the main reason for this purchase. We finalised the blueprint following a brief consultation where every one of my concerns regarding wiring and lighting sockets were addressed. I liked that they didn't rush the design stage, taking the time to ensure that the width of the shelving was enough for my largest bottles. It seemed like a joint process instead than a simple sale, which is hard to find nowadays.

The installation date came faster than anticipated, and the technician was on time and ready. He started by laying down safety covers to ensure my flooring remained tidy. Watching the components being unloaded was fascinating, as the standard of the wood was immediately obvious. He carefully verified the alignment of the walls before securing the base frame of the bar. I watched as the structure slowly took shape, transforming a boring corner into a practical piece. The degree of skill involved in fitting the boards to the wonky walls of my period home was impressive. He explained why each piece slotted in to create maximum stability. We spent a little time choosing on the exact position for the integrated cooler, making sure it was easy to open but hidden back from main sight. The fitting of the worktop was the most satisfying part of the whole day. Seeing the smooth top finally sitting on the base helped the project come to life. He then installed the glass backsplash, which immediately made the space to look twice the size. The LEDs were wired afterward, and checking them for the first moment was a thrill. The soft glow underneath the shelves showcased the glassware perfectly. I could visualise exactly how handy this would be for night parties. The fitter was very careful, taking the effort to clean down every surface and remove any dust created during the cutting. He additionally demonstrated me the way to move the racks should I later needed to house bigger items. The attention to precision was really exceptional, right down to the sealant lines around the edges. It was obvious that he had immense satisfaction in his craft, which is always reassuring to see. We did a last walkthrough of the completed installation to make everything was perfect. I noted that one knob was slightly wobbly, and he tightened it immediately with a quick twist of a screwdriver. This thoroughness was exactly what I was looking for when I arranged the job.

The finished area looks completely stunning and has become the main point of my downstairs. It offers a classy vibe that had been formerly lacking from my living room. The capacity is huge, enabling me to organise all my spirits, sodas, and specialist glassware in one cohesive unit. No more do I need to search inside cluttered kitchen shelves to locate a corkscrew or a certain kind of tumbler. Everything has its rightful place, which makes entertaining much more simpler and relaxing. I love the way the materials catch the light in the afternoons, making a inviting atmosphere. My guests have already praised the setup multiple times, with some actually asking for the details of the company who made it. It really feels like a bespoke addition made exactly for my needs. The height of the surface is ideal for leaning by with a glass, and the built-in lighting strips offer just the right level of illumination without being overpowering. Even when not in operation, it works as a lovely piece of furniture that lifts the whole look of the property. I used some effort placing my collection on the racks to make a visual display. The glass back really assist in displaying the labels and giving depth to the tight alcove. It has inspired me to experiment creating different cocktails that I previously felt were too complicated to attempt in a normal setting. Having the sink close would have been good, but the space limits meant we opted against it to preserve storage room. This was a deliberate choice we made at the design phase, and I certainly not regret it. The extra cupboard room for straws and tools is far more valuable to me in the run period.

There were a few of minor limitations that are fair to noting for a honest view. The wait period for the custom panels was a little longer than I originally hoped. It took about six days from the first payment to the final fitting date. While this is expected for click here high-quality work, it required a some of waiting on my end. I had wanted to have it ready for a specific birthday, but we passed that date by a few days. However, the updates from the office about the delay was regular, so I was not left in the unknowing. I would wait a bit longer for a product that is made to last than receive a hasty job that fails after a couple years. The initial cost estimate was also slightly lower than the total invoice, mostly because I decided to improve the handles and include extra inside lights midway during the process. These adjustments were completely my decision, and the team was extremely clear about the extra fees involved. Another minor point was the amount of packaging remaining following the fitting. Although the worker cleaned up the build area perfectly, there was a large amount of cardboard to dispose of in my recycling. It was not a big deal, but something to consider if you have limited waste space. Despite these small points, the overall experience was very positive. The standard of the fit is far better to anything I might have purchased off-the-shelf. It seems solid and well-constructed, and I am confident it will withstand decades of parties. I feel the value it has given to my home well outweighs the upfront outlay. It has transformed the way I use my downstairs space, making it much more social. I no anymore sense cluttered when friends come over.

Reflecting back on the whole experience, I am really happy I went ahead with it. The first spark originated from a trip to a friend's place in Oxford, where they had a comparable bar. I realised then how greatly it enhanced the movement of the party. When I got back to Reading, I began researching nearby firms and found that working with a specialist provider was the best way to get the exact look I wanted. The ability to pick every element, from the shade of the stain to the placement of the power sockets, ensured the final product was exactly as I envisioned. I also had a small secret compartment built for keeping expensive items like silver stirrers. This kind of customisation is what makes the service unique. It didn't seem like a mass-produced item being forced into a room where it didn't fit. Instead, it looks like it has always been a part of the architecture. If you are thinking about a similar domestic upgrade, my advice would be to be calm and spend the effort on the design part. It is much easier to change a sketch than it is to fix a unit once it is built. The expertise offered at the beginning was crucial in stopping me from doing simple mistakes, such as putting the cooler too near to a heat source. These small bits of advice are what you pay for when you choose skilled experts. I am now looking at other areas of my house to see where else I could install fitted solutions. The outcome of this bar project has provided me the confidence to start a bigger task in the kitchen later year. It has been a wonderful addition to my life, and I look forward to numerous years of using it with relatives and pals. Finding the right balance between looks and function was the aim, and I feel we reached it completely. The process from a messy alcove to a sleek social point was well worth the time and money required. I now have a home that I am truly happy to share off to visitors. Reading has some great venues to go for a cocktail, but honestly, I now favour being at my place and enjoying my own personal bar. It provides the same feel without the noise or the commute. That alone is deserving the entire project. I am very pleased with how the lighting functions in the night, creating a relaxing environment to relax after a long day at the office. It is the little luxuries like this that make home living so rewarding and enjoyable. I highly appreciate the workmanship that was put into the finished result. The manner the doors close with a silent thud tells plenty about the construction level. No detail was overlooked, and the final look is precisely what I hoped it would be when I originally started this adventure. It is a credit to the skill of the fitters and the standard of the materials used. I am a truly happy customer.
